Hilliard families with students in grades 6 through 12 must complete an online waiver before their children can join career field trips through SchooLinks.
The district posted a parent guide Sept. 10 explaining the Career Connected Learning platform. SchooLinks assigns students annual tasks, starting with interest surveys in middle school and building toward professional networking and workplace visits in high school.
Students cannot attend out-of-building events until a parent updates their child's Home Access Information, which includes a sign-off waiver. A step-by-step Google Slides walkthrough is linked from the district's guide page.
When a student signs up for an event, parents automatically receive an email with details and any extra permission forms. The district urged families to add [email protected] to their safe-sender list so those messages do not land in spam.
College Counselor Trevor Maggied sends a weekly Career & College Newsletter through ParentSquare to middle and high school families. Each high school also has a Graduation & Pathways Coach to help students plan beyond graduation:
