Hilliard elementary and middle school families have about two weeks to walk their kids through hallways, meet teachers, and grab supply lists before the first day of school on August 19.

Open houses across the district begin August 10, and run through August 17. Here's the full schedule.

Weaver Middle School

Weaver kicks things off with CAT Day on August 10, running two sessions: 8:00–11:00 a.m. and noon–3:00 p.m. Students can pick up their iPads, test their lockers, and walk the building to find classrooms. Parents don't need to be present for iPad pickup, and students who miss CAT Day will get their devices on the first day of school.

Weaver's Open House and New Student Orientation follows on August 12, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Incoming seventh graders and eighth graders new to Weaver have a separate orientation session from 6:30–7:15 p.m. that same evening. One important note from the school: iPad pickup will not be available during Open House, so families should plan to attend CAT Day separately.

Picture day at Weaver is scheduled for August 21, with a makeup day on October 1.

Hoffman Trails Elementary

Hoffman Trails holds its Open House on August 14, from 3:20–5:30 p.m., the earliest elementary event on the calendar.

Monday, August 17 — multiple campuses

Four elementary schools host open houses on the same evening:

At each event, families can meet their child's teacher, explore classrooms, and ask questions of staff. Supply lists are posted on each school's page at hilliardschools.org.

Other campuses

Several additional elementary schools are also hosting events on August 17, including Avery Elementary (4:30–6:30 p.m.), Washington Elementary's "Wolf Welcome Day" (4:30–6:30 p.m.), Brown Elementary (4:30–6:30 p.m.), and J.W. Reason Elementary (4:00–6:00 p.m.). Families should check their school's page on hilliardschools.org for specific details.

Hilliard Crossing also has Kindergarten Screening by appointment on August 11, for incoming kindergartners.

The first day of school for all Hilliard City Schools students is August 19.
