Four restaurants preparing to open at Hilliard's TruePointe development have filed for Sunday alcohol sales permits, putting the question before voters in the Nov. 3 General Election.

Drunch, Medley Kitchen, Old Scratch Pizza and Smoked Lick BBQ Burgers and Booze each filed local option petitions with the Franklin County Board of Elections for Sunday sales of wine, mixed beverages and spirituous liquor at their TruePointe Boulevard addresses, according to the board's questions and issues filing revised Aug. 5.

All four are listed under Hilliard precinct 2-D. Under Ohio's local option law, registered voters in that precinct will decide whether each location can serve alcohol on Sundays. A yes vote applies only to the specific address on the ballot.

The filings mark a regulatory milestone for TruePointe, the $250 million mixed-use development by Equity Commercial Real Estate Solutions on Trueman Boulevard near the I-270 and Cemetery Road interchange. The 27-acre project broke ground in July 2023 and includes 42,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, luxury apartments, a future Home2 Suites by Hilton and more than 280,000 square feet of office and medical space.

Here's what's coming to TruePointe Boulevard:

Drunch (3997 TruePointe Blvd.) is an all-day brunch concept serving locally sourced dishes and specialty cocktails. Originally based in Columbus's Italian Village neighborhood, Drunch was announced as a TruePointe tenant in May 2024.

Medley Kitchen (3986 TruePointe Blvd., Suite 101) is the first brick-and-mortar restaurant from Culinary Collectives, a hospitality group led by restaurateur Derek Bush, a Cameron Mitchell Restaurants veteran with more than 20 years of industry experience. The chef-driven menu features shareable small plates inspired by tapas, dim sum and mezze. Medley Kitchen is expected to open in fall 2026 and create more than 50 jobs.

"When you look across cultures, you'll find many of the same ingredients, cooking methods and traditions expressed in completely different ways," Bush told NBC4 on June 24. "That idea became the inspiration for Medley Kitchen."

Old Scratch Pizza (3998 TruePointe Blvd.) is a Dayton-based Neapolitan pizza and beer hall named 2024 Midwest Pizza Company of the Year. The Hilliard location will feature multiple Neapolitan ovens, an open kitchen and a full-service bar.

Smoked Lick BBQ Burgers and Booze (3997 TruePointe Blvd., Suite 101) is a locally owned Hilliard business specializing in Texas- and Memphis-style barbecue. Smoked Lick opened its first brick-and-mortar at 4333 Cosgray Rd. in January 2025; the TruePointe spot is its second location and will add a full dining room and bar. Executive Director Mariah Hasson said in an October 2025 614Now story that TruePointe "is built around community, which aligns perfectly with what we've always been about."

The build-out speaks to a common sentiment among longtime residents. Marilyn Evans, a Hilliard Ohio Historical Society volunteer, put it plainly in the organization's March 2026 newsletter, speaking generally about Hilliard's dining scene: "Hilliard could use a nice restaurant — one you'd take your mother to on Mother's Day or for a special occasion."

Hilliard precinct 2-D voters will see the four Sunday sales questions on their Nov. 3 ballots.
