Franklin County Public Health will spray for mosquitoes across six southeast Hilliard neighborhoods Monday, Sept. 28, after trapped mosquitoes tested positive for West Nile virus.

Spraying is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. in and around Hilliard Heights, Carriage Run, Darby Glen, Hilliard Run, Hoffman Farms and Hampton Reserve, WSYX/ABC6 first reported.

The operation marks the second consecutive Monday that Franklin County Public Health has sprayed Hilliard neighborhoods after positive West Nile trap results. On Sept. 21, crews targeted six neighborhoods in the northeast and northwest parts of the city: Britton Farms, Carrington Place, Hampton Oaks, Dorset Glen, Heritage Lakes and Brookfield, according to Fox 28 Columbus.

Monday's spraying shifts to the southeast zone. Hilliard contracts with Franklin County Public Health for mosquito control, and the city's mosquito page says spraying is divided into east, west, central, south and north zones. The agency sprays when trapped mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus, weather permitting.

Franklin County Public Health does not spray individual properties. Residents who want their neighborhood considered for future spraying can submit a request through the agency's online service portal.
