Murnan Road is open again between Kuhlwein Road and W. Broad Street, giving Hilliard-area drivers back a second route in the same week.
The Franklin County Engineer's Office confirmed on X Aug. 6, that the road reopened following drainage maintenance that shut it down starting Aug. 3. The agency had estimated the work would take roughly three days, weather permitting. It took four.
The closure is the second Franklin County road project to wrap up in the Hilliard area this week. Roberts Road between Spindler Road and Alton & Darby Creek Road reopened Aug. 4 after a 64-day bridge replacement. The Murnan Road project, by contrast, stayed close to schedule.
The Engineer's Office announced the closure July 31 and confirmed work was underway Aug. 3. No details about the specific drainage repairs or detour routes were included in the agency's posts.
No further work on Murnan Road has been announced.
