Engaged couples who want to experience a full wedding before booking a venue can do exactly that at a Hilliard event on Aug. 21.

The Cove at WatersEdge, the 3,280-square-foot ballroom venue at 4643 Trueman Blvd., is hosting what it calls an "I Do" Preview from 6 to 9:30 p.m. For $20 a ticket, attendees will walk through a fully staged mock wedding, from ceremony through cocktail hour, dinner and reception, complete with live entertainment, handcrafted cocktails and a full dinner prepared by Gourmet Fresh Catering.

The concept goes beyond a standard venue open house. Rather than touring an empty space, guests watch a ceremony unfold in real time, sit down for a plated meal and experience the reception with florals by Fiori Florals and live entertainment throughout the evening. Vendors will be available to answer questions about their services.

Attendees who book The Cove for their own wedding afterward receive exclusive booking incentives available only to event guests, according to the Eventbrite listing.

The Cove opened inside WatersEdge Event & Conference Center after an expansion that brought the Trueman Boulevard facility to 20,000 square feet, making it among the largest meeting venues in Central Ohio, according to a City of Hilliard announcement. The property sits on 9.5 acres with indoor and outdoor ceremony locations and waterfront views.

Cocktail attire is recommended.
