Logan Reitter takes over a Hilliard Davidson baseball program that went 6-20-1 during the 2025-26 season, replacing longtime head coach Justin Swallie.

The Wildcats introduced Reitter at a parent and player meeting Monday, Sept. 21, an event the program's account on X described as the official start of a new era for Davidson baseball. The account said there was a buzz in the air among the families and players who attended.

Reitter, a Cincinnati native and former pitcher at Asbury University, announced his hiring on X on Sept. 15. "Honored and grateful to announce that I have been chosen to lead this incredible program," he wrote. The program account responded the same day, saying it had found its guy.

The new coach brings a background that blends teaching and college-level coaching. Reitter served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Thomas More University, an NCAA Division III program, from July 2021 to August 2022. He has worked as a business instructor at Butler Tech's Hamilton High School campus since February 2024, according to his LinkedIn profile. He earned his MBA from Thomas More in 2023.

He replaces Swallie, who resigned in June after 13 seasons leading the Wildcats. Columbus Dispatch reporter Frank DiRenna reported the resignation on X.

Davidson's recent results underscore the rebuild ahead. The Wildcats finished 3-12 in Ohio Capital Conference play in spring 2026, according to MaxPreps. In spring 2025, the team went 12-14 and lost in the Division I district championship to the eventual state champion.

The program is still filling out its coaching staff. The Wildcats posted on X the same day as Reitter's announcement that they were seeking assistant coaches to help build the program. Colin Kaucher, a former Ohio Dominican University standout who hit .378 over 195 career games, is listed as an assistant varsity coach on the program's website.

The Wildcats' spring schedule has not been released.
