Hilliard precinct 3-A voters will cast ballots at a new location on Nov. 3.
The Franklin County Board of Elections is moving the precinct's polling site from the Hilliard Municipal Building to JW Reason Elementary School at 4790 Cemetery Rd., according to a board press release issued Oct. 15. The change is one of more than a dozen polling location shifts across Franklin County ahead of the general election.
The board announced it was mailing notifications to 54,645 registered voters countywide whose assigned polling location changed. Each notice lists the voter's new location and address.
Franklin County Board of Elections Director Antone White urged voters in the release to verify their polling location before Election Day, even if they have voted at the same place for years. He said voters should review their mailed notification or check their voter record online.
Signs will go up at former polling locations directing voters to their new sites.
Franklin County will have 298 polling locations open for the general election. Voters can verify their assigned location using the My Registration tool at vote.franklincountyohio.gov or by calling 614-525-3100.
Voters who prefer not to wait until Election Day can cast ballots early in person at the Board of Elections, 1700 Morse Rd. in Columbus. Early voting runs through Sunday, Nov. 1. As of Oct. 14, 22,436 Franklin County voters had already cast ballots at the early voting center.
The final week includes extended hours. The center is open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, and 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Oct. 30. Saturday, Oct. 31, hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The final day, Sunday, Nov. 1, is 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 8:30 p.m. Regular absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. A postmark alone does not meet the deadline.
A drive-up ballot drop-off tent is available at the board's office during business hours.
Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
