Zuber Road and Young Road closed Aug. 17 for drainage improvements that will keep both roads shut for roughly 75 days, the Franklin County Engineer's Office announced on X.

Based on that 75-day estimate, the roads could reopen by early November 2026 if weather cooperates.

The work is part of the county's 2026 Capital Improvement Program, listed as the "Zuber Road/Plum Run Drainage Improvement – Parts 2 & 3" project. Both roads cross Plum Run, a waterway in the area. According to the county's capital improvement plan, the project combines drainage and bridge improvement at the two crossings: Young Road at 1.34 miles over Plum Run and Zuber Road at 1.07 miles over Plum Run.

No detour was posted.

Residents who use Zuber or Young roads as part of their commute should plan alternate routes for the duration.

This is the fourth Hilliard-area road closure the county has announced in August. The office previously closed Alton Road on Aug. 10 for about 12 days of drainage work, the Cooke Road/Dresden Street intersection on Aug. 14 for five days, and Hardy Parkway Street on Aug. 17 for roughly 30 days of roundabout construction.

At 75 days, the Zuber/Young closure is the longest of the bunch.
