Voters in Hilliard Precinct 2-D will decide whether four TruePointe Boulevard restaurants can sell wine, mixed beverages and liquor on Sundays, after the Franklin County Board of Elections certified the questions Aug. 17 for the Nov. 3 General Election ballot.
The certified ballot document, revised Aug. 17, lists the four questions as Issues #30b through #33b. Each is a "particular location" local option, meaning approval would authorize Sunday sales only at that specific address, not across the entire precinct.
The restaurants are:
- Drunch, 3997 Truepointe Blvd.
- Medley Kitchen, 3986 Truepointe Blvd., Suite 101
- Old Scratch Pizza, 3998 Truepointe Blvd.
- Smoked Lick BBQ Burgers and Booze, 3997 Truepointe Blvd., Suite 101
Each question stands alone. All four restaurants filed for the ballot questions earlier in the summer. The certification step confirms voters will see the questions on their ballots and makes the Nov. 3 vote official.
As we reported Aug. 5, the restaurants initially submitted their filings to get the questions before voters. The board's certification clears the final administrative hurdle before Election Day.
What Sunday sales means for diners
Under Ohio's local option law, a precinct can be "dry" for certain types of alcohol sales on certain days. A particular-location election lets a single business ask voters to approve sales at its address without changing the rules for the rest of the precinct, according to Ohio Liquor Options.
If voters approve, each restaurant would be able to serve wine, mixed beverages and spirits on Sundays. If any question fails, that restaurant remains unable to sell alcohol on Sundays while the others that pass could proceed independently.
The restaurants
Three of the four are already open. Drunch, Old Scratch Pizza and Smoked Lick BBQ have been serving customers at TruePointe since earlier in 2026. Medley Kitchen, the first brick-and-mortar restaurant from Derek Bush, founder of the Culinary Collectives restaurant group, is expected to open this fall and will initially serve dinner only, according to Columbus Navigator. The restaurant plans to create more than 50 jobs.
Old Scratch Pizza is a Dayton-based chain founded in 2016, and its TruePointe location is its first in Central Ohio. Smoked Lick BBQ's TruePointe spot is a second Hilliard location; the original operates at 4333 Cosgray Rd. in Patch Plaza.
TruePointe is a $250 million mixed-use development along I-270 that includes dining, retail, apartments and event space, according to the city's 2025 Popular Annual Financial Report.
What's next
Only Precinct 2-D voters will decide the four questions. Results are expected election night, Nov. 3. No public hearing or additional board action is required before the vote.
