Jowhar Coffee House, a family-owned specialty coffee shop, plans to open at Hilliard's TruePointe development along Interstate 270, the business announced in an Oct. 1 Instagram post.
No opening date has been announced, Columbus Monthly reported Oct. 15.
The TruePointe development website describes Jowhar as "a family-owned coffee shop that prides itself on culture and pure, organic taste." The shop's Instagram bio calls it a premium specialty coffee brand and uses the tagline "The Essence of Coffee."
In an Oct. 4 post, the account said Jowhar would be "a space … for great coffee, meaningful conversations, and a community we can't wait to meet."
Jowhar would join a growing roster of tenants at TruePointe, the $200 million mixed-use project developed by Hilliard-based Equity on 26 acres along Trueman Boulevard. The development already houses the Water's Edge Conference Center, TEMPO Apartments, Brick House Blue and Kenneth's Salon and Day Spa, according to Destination Hilliard.
Destination Hilliard also lists Qawah Coffee House among future TruePointe tenants. The relationship between the two coffee businesses is unclear.
More tenants are on the way. The city of Hilliard announced that Body Alive fitness studio plans to open at TruePointe this winter. The city also said Gamer, a European-based interactive gaming concept, chose TruePointe for its first U.S. location. Old Scratch Pizza Kitchen, Drunch Eatery, Culinary Collective and Smoked Lick BBQ are also listed as future tenants.
At full build-out, TruePointe is expected to include 15 buildings with more than 280,000 square feet of office and medical space, 44,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, 359 apartments, a 108-room hotel, walking trails, a six-acre lake and a dog park, according to Hilliard's comprehensive plan.
Equity CEO Steve Wathen called TruePointe "a transformative new space" in a 2023 news release announcing Advanced Drainage Systems as the development's anchor tenant.
The announcements reviewed did not specify a menu, regular hours or a suite address. The shop's Instagram account is @jowharcoffeehouse.
