A European-based interactive entertainment company called Gamer will open its first American location at TruePointe, Hilliard's $250 million mixed-use development on Trueman Boulevard.
The city announced the addition Aug. 11, with Emma Cedillo writing for the city's economic development office that Gamer represents another step in TruePointe's growth as a gathering destination. The company plans to use Hilliard as its launchpad for expansion across the United States.
What Gamer offers
The concept puts groups inside a live game-show experience. During a 60- to 90-minute session, teams compete in challenges built around strategy, skill, coordination and chance, earning points toward a final victory. The city described it as a fit for corporate events, celebrations, date nights and family outings.
The venue will also serve soft drinks and European craft beers.
Why Hilliard
According to the city's announcement, Gamer's German founder cited the Columbus region's growing population, strong business community and German heritage as factors in choosing the area for the company's U.S. debut. No opening date has been announced, and the founder's name was not disclosed in the city's release.
TruePointe's growing tenant list
Gamer joins a lineup that already includes the Water's Edge Conference Center, the Cove at Water's Edge event venue, TEMPO Apartments, Brick House Blue and Kenneth's Salon and Day Spa. The city's 2025 financial report noted the opening of Advanced Drainage Systems' corporate headquarters as a major milestone for the 23.5-acre campus, which Developer Equity and Milhaus broke ground on in July 2023.
Still on the way: Home2 Suites by Hilton, Old Scratch Pizza Kitchen, Drunch Eatery, Smoked Lick BBQ, Qawah Coffee House and Culinary Collective, among others. When complete, TruePointe will feature green space, miles of walking trails, a six-acre lake and a dog park.
The development is a centerpiece of Hilliard's 2023 Comprehensive Plan, which calls for 45% to 65% commercial uses in mixed-use projects to generate income-tax revenue funding city services.
Gamer's national expansion will begin here. An opening date has not been set.
