The Hilliard Davidson Wildcats girls soccer team opened the 2026 season with a 1-1 tie against Delaware on Aug. 18, according to the Darby Athletics account on X.

No goal scorers were reported.

The draw gives Davidson a point in its first competitive match of the year. The Wildcats enter 2026 looking to build on momentum from last fall, when the varsity squad posted a 4-0 week alongside JV in early September 2025, beating Marysville and Grove City, then topped Watterson 1-0 on Oct. 4. Goalkeeper Zoey Elfritz earned Week 2 Athlete of the Week honors as a freshman during that 2025 campaign.

In an Aug. 4 schedule release on Instagram, the program said it aims to continue competing against tough opposition and battle for a spot atop the Ohio Capital Conference this season.

Davidson's early schedule backs up that billing. The Wildcats host Avon Lake on Aug. 22, at 12:45 p.m., then travel to crosstown rival Hilliard Darby on Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. A trip to Dublin Scioto follows on Aug. 27.

The Darby matchup will be Davidson's first OCC game of the season.
